| The Trailer Depot, a full
service trailer dealership located at 10 Mill Street
in East Haven, CT is proud to have won 1st Runner-up
in the Micro Business Category (5-14 employees) at
the 10th annual Connecticut Business of the Year Awards.
They were nominated for this award by Dr. Alan Lovins,
and Dr. David Tate. The University of Connecticut
Family Business of the Year Awards recognize successful
family firms that were chosen by a panel of judges
and evaluated based on business success, positive
family and business linkage, multi-generational family
involvement, dynamic contributions to the community
and industry, and innovative business practices or
strategies.
The Trailer Depot, started in 1995 by Steve Duhamel,
has been committed to providing Connecticut with the
most reputable trailer parts and accessories along
with the highest quality service. Michael Duhamel,
Steve’s son and Kelli Brosnan, Steve’s
daughter along with Sean Brosnan, Steve’s son
in law, took over running The Trailer Depot in December
2000 and are thrilled to be growing the business.
They are proud to be moving to their new location
at 1037 Middletown Avenue (Rte. 17), in Northford,
CT in the mid-winter of 2005. The groundbreaking ceremony
took place October 11, 2004.
The Trailer Depot continues to carry on the family
tradition of agricultural based business with their
new location that was once a vegetable farm, owned
by the Sansavero family. Michael Duhamel owns a horse
farm and his in-laws Michael and Joanne Doody, raise
beef cattle.
Along with the custom car and horse trailers, livestock,
motorcycle, landscape, ATV, snowmobile, equipment
and utility trailers in stock, The Trailer Depot also
installs a large supply of hitches, plows and truck
accessories. They can outfit just about any tuck or
trailer to fit the needs of their customers. They
are a family that works together and plays together
and knows what it takes to be successful. |
